Throwback! The children went back to the land of lithos, where hunter-gatherers foraged for berries and nuts and tools were made of stone and wood. The children enjoyed activities such as designing and building a Stone Age settlement, and creating cave paintings.
We discussed high-quality vocabulary that we could use to describe the wolf in our story - Wolves by Emily Gravett - we used this vocabulary to create pieces of artwork.
Read-a-thons are a type of fundraiser that ask participants to read as many pages or books as they can by a predetermined date. Year 3 were sponsored to read a number of books across the hour and worked hard to raise funds for our wonderful school!

Brain Buddies is a programme which aims to develop students’ understanding of what emotion regulation is. It focuses on psychoeducation and skills building in understanding, identifying and developing strategies for children to regulate their emotions through self-care, self-calming strategies and thinking strategies such as problem-solving.
Using our Base 10, we were able to multiply a 2-digit by a 1-digit number!
We've begun to read Wolves by Emily Gravett. We chose scenes from our book and brought the characters to life. We discussed body language, facial expression and entertaining our audience - some children even used props!
