St John XXIII Catholic Primary School Inspiring Faith in our Future

Admissions and School Open Days

St John XXIII Primary School is an Outstanding Voluntary Aided Roman Catholic School, in the  Diocese of Westminster.

We are a member of the Saint John Southworth Catholic Academy Trust and a feeder school for the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School, an Ofsted Outstanding secondary school in Holland Park.

A school application form can be downloaded below or obtained from the School Office. The Executive Headteacher and Head of School are happy to talk to parents about admission to our School and open mornings are usually held in October and November each year. Details of the school’s admission arrangements can also be obtained from the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham or via e-admissions.

The Governing Body has sole responsibility for admissions to this School and intends to admit 60 pupils at one point of entry to the Reception class in the school year which begins every September.

St John XXIII Catholic Primary School was founded by the Catholic Church to primarily provide education for children of Catholic families and to serve the communities in which they are built.  The school is conducted by its governing body as part of the Catholic Church in accordance with its trust deed and instrument of government and seeks at all times to be a witness to Jesus Christ.

Whenever there are more applications than places available, priority will be given to Catholic applicants in accordance with the oversubscription criteria. The Governing Body welcomes all applications, particularly those of other denominations and faiths who support the religious ethos of the school.

A Certificate of Catholic Practice is a form signed by your Parish Priest to confirm attendance at mass. This is required as part of your application if you are a practising Catholic family.

What to do if you do if you are not eligible for a Certificate of Catholic Practice or your child has not been Baptised?

You can still apply for St John XXIII if you do not attend Church or if your child has not been Baptised. We understand that  every family is different and that there may be circumstances that have prevented you from obtaining a Certificate of Catholic Practice for church attendance. If you have any questions or concerns about this, come in and speak to us. We are here to listen and to support you in finding the right education for your child.

Our admission arrangements (2025/2026) have been determined and can be downloaded using the links below

In accordance with Regulation 21 of the Regulations and Section 88 of the SSFA 1998, any person or body who considered that any maintained school or Academy's arrangements are unlawful, or not compliant with the Code or relevant law relating to admissions, can make an objection to the School Adjudicator.
