Ave Maria...
On May 13, we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, looking to the Blessed Mother for peace and comfort in times of uncertainty.
According to tradition, on May 13, 1917, the Virgin Mary appeared to three shepherd children, Lúcia dos Santos, Francisco Marto, and Jacinta Marto, near Fatima, Portugal. Her message to the children is still practiced today especially within our school: pray the Rosary.
Joining in with the celebrations of our Parish Our Lady of Fatima, our Key Stage 2 children attended Mass before processing to our beautiful statue of Mary in our playground singing our hymns of praise to Mary, with our offerings of flowers.
Pupil Chaplaincy then lead everybody in a decade of the Rosary.
As Our Lady of Fatima is the class Saint of Reception, they were eager and very happy to crown our Blessed Virgin Mary.
