Summer 1
Position & Direction
Position & direction proved to be a tricky concept to grasp at the beginning of our maths topic this half term. Some of our children got to work outside of the classroom to see if they could figure a way to make the learning work for them! They began by giving each other instructions to follow as they familiarised themselves with the mathematical vocabulary before tacking more tricky problem solving tasks.
The Holy Trinity
Year 5 explore the origins of The Holy Trinity, what this means for us today and how it is present in our lives. They demonstrated their learning through drama and collaborative learning.
The Big Frieze
Across this year we have been studying the Art work 'The Big Frieze' - a collaborative piece depicting the stories of the Bible. Year 5 have loved being creative and sharing their RE knowledge to bring their own versions of 'The Big Frieze' to life.
The Journey
We have thoroughly enjoyed reading The Journey this term. We explore the themes of freedom and how this links to the current world we live in. This was a really interesting book to understand the problems that some people in the world are faced with and how we can help them.
