Year 2 and 5 enjoyed a visit from the London Fire Brigade this week. The children all learnt a lot about fire safety and what to do in the event of a fire in the home. They also learnt about the common causes of fire and how these can be avoided.
The Fire Brigade Education Officer left us with some good resources for you to use at home with your children which you can download below. They also recommended doing a Home Fire Safety Check which you can do by following this link.
If the result of the check recommends that a Home Fire Safety Visit is required, you can book the service to your home and it will be carried out either by Firefighters from your closest fire station or by Community Safety Officers from London Fire Brigade. They will provide you with fire safety advice in your home and fit smoke alarms where needed. The visits and smoke alarms are completely free of charge, so please do take advantage of this if needed.
