Today we went on a nature walk around our school and looked carefully at God's beautiful creations.
Care for Creation
Today in our RE lesson we explored how our community cares for God’s creation. We visited the school garden and admired Father Richard’s work in caring for God’s Creation. We saw different plants, upcycled lids that were transformed into art on the wall and reusable items added to the garden.
Expressing creation through creative art
Today we created our own words for the hymn ‘Spirit Lead me’ inspired by the Creation and Prayer artwork of Elizabeth Wang. We performed our version of the song to the whole class.
Numbers as words
Today we explored numbers as words to 10. We had to find the matching number, word and numicon.
Counting from any given number up to 10
Today we explored counting from a given number up to 10. We used manipulatives (cubes) to carry out our task.
Number bonds to 10
Today we began exploring number bonds to 10! We were very excited to draw part whole models on our tables to help us!
Number bonds within 10
In this lesson, we continued exploring number bonds and moved on to number bonds within 10. We enjoyed learning using our manipulatives.
Add 2 amounts using a Rekenrek
We explored adding 2 amounts together using a Rekenrek. We enjoyed writing number sentences on our tables to correspond our addition on the Rekenreks!
Finding a part of a whole
We used our numicon to help us find a part of a whole number on a bar model.
Comparing numbers and amounts
We started by exploring the comparison signs (greater than, less than and equal to) and moved on to comparing numbers. We also explored comparing amounts and writing on our tables our comparisons!
We really enjoyed learning about Mr Alligator chomping the biggest number! Chomp! Chomp!!
Three Little pigs - Orally retell the story
We started Autumn term exploring the Three Little Pigs. We had to sequence the story, orally retell the story and describe the characters. We loved it!
Goldilocks and the Three Bears - Orally retell the story
We moved onto Goldilocks and the Three Bears . We had to sequence the story, orally retell the story and describe the characters. We enjoyed the story, it was just right!
Little Red Riding Hood - Act out the story
We finished our first half term exploring the Little Red Riding Hood story. We have sequenced the story, acted out the story and described using sentences for each plot of the story.
We had a lot of fun taking turns in acting our the story, our favourite plot was when the Big Bag Wolf scared Little Red Riding Hood!
Sensory walk - Exploring our senses
Today we went on a walk and used our senses to explore items that we could find in our playground. We used sight, hearing, smell, touch and taste (snack at playtime).
Naming different animals
In our science lesson today we named a range of different animals.
We discussed our favourite animal and where they live and what they eat.
