Year 5 trip to Holly Lodge

On Thursday, Year 5 visited Holly Lodge in Richmond Park. At Holly Lodge the children learnt about the different habitats found in Richmond Park and then went out on the Holly Lodge Nature Trail. While out on the trail, the children built their own habitat for an animal that lives in the park, they did some log-rolling and collected insects and also did some pond-dipping, catching lots of animals that lived in the Holly Lodge pond and thinking about their various life cycles.

In the afternoon, the children went to Isabella Plantation and did some orienteering. Using a map of the plantation and following some clues, the children navigated their way around the plantation.

A good time was had by all.
