St John XXIII Catholic Primary School Inspiring Faith in our Future

Caritas Ambassadors

Caritas Ambassadors

Year 5 have begun their journey to become Caritas Ambassadors and shared their journey with the School.

This is the second year of our students to take part in this very special important project.

For our Caritas project this year, Year 5 have been researching the local area for where there is most need and where the Catholic Social Teaching values are missing. The Catholic Social teaching values are: Dignity, Solidarity, Option for the poor, Care for Creation, Dignity of Work, Community and Participation. We decided to focus on Dignity, Option for the poor, Care for Creation and Community and Participation. We decided that we will be supporting Hunger in our community due to the Cost of Living Crisis. We had a visit from H&F Foodbank who we will be donating to along with the Parish Food Share.

Sr Silvana presents the Caritas Ambassadors with their badges

In January  Sr Silvana from Caritas awarded us with our badges so we can proudly share with our school and local community that we are now Caritas Ambassadors.
