IMPACT

 

  • Proficiency in Music ,
  • Every child will leave school able to play at least one tunned and a variety of untuned percussion instrument.
  • The more able instrumentalists will pass music exam on their specific instruments from outside renowned music boards (ABRSM, Trinity College, Youth Music)
  • Every child will leave school able to sing a wide repertoire of songs, hymns, carols, etc. from a variety of styles, cultures and periods of time.
  • The more able singers will be able to sing solos, in parts, harmonies, call/response, with confidence  and performance experience. 
  • Every child will be able to read basic music notation, rhythms and pitch. The more able children will be able to sight read music, understand treble and bass clef, time and key signatures and music theory.
  • The older children will be encouraged to join the Choir to develop further their singing voice and abilities.
  • The more able musicians will be challenged by taking part on the "School of Rock" band to develop further their musicianship, learn how to play their specific instrument in a band setting, develop performance skills and audience awareness.
  • Personal Development:
  • Every child will develop and enhance self-confidence, creativity, social skills, discipline, citizenship, Christian values, etc. through music making, composition, playing with others, singing in assemblies and mass. learning to play music instruments with control and discipline.
  • Support and enhance Religious and Moral aspect of school
  • Through Hymn practices and Mass every child will learn a variety of hymns, developing not only the music skills and abilities but more importantly the Christian message and teachings contained in the lyrics.
