Ten children in Year 2 set off on a long walk to Power League in South Africa Road to join 25 other schools in a football festival organised by QPR. This was the first KS1 Sports event in almost 4 years so we were all very excited to be setting off. It would be a 7 aside tournament of mixed gender with the focus on fun, enjoyment, learning the rules and showing respect to all involved. The children learned some positional parts to the game as well as the roles of an attacker and defender. The children had a great day, were supportive to each other throughout and it was fantastic to see them all in a new part of their school lives. They will no doubt look forward to future events in lower KS2.
