St John XXIII Catholic Primary School Inspiring Faith in our Future

Feast of Our Lady of Fatima

It was a special day for our school community today as we celebrated the feast of Our Lady of Fatima, the image of Our Lady that our parish church is devoted to. We gathered in the church for a whole school mass and sang the beautiful ‘Treze de Maio’ and the children read the Liturgy of The Word. After Mass we processed back into church with flowers that the children had brought in and carried the statue of Our Lady. We adorned the statue of Mary with flowers and children in EYFS crowned Her with a crown of flowers that they have made. Finally, Father Richard led the whole school in a decade of The Roasry as we asked for Our Lady’s presence in our lives.

May is a special month of prayer to Mary and this is a beautiful part of our school life and the real sign that our summer term is well under way.
