Key Stage 2 Parent Workshop
During our Parent Workshop on Monday we provided parents with an insight into what grammatical concepts the children will be taught, the importance of sentence formation as the foundation of all writing and how you can support your child with their writing at home.
We discussed:
• How writing is taught through a variety of ‘Power of Reading’ teaching approaches,
• The sequential teaching of grammar concepts across KS2,
• The importance of sentence formation, how to develop sentences so writing is effective and how to add variety to writing by using ‘Alan Peat sentence types’,
• Resources and ideas that you can use to support your children at home with their writing.
