Match point! Year 3 are well into their training for Wimbledon - we even got to try our hand at a game! We've been building our skills up with rackets and working co-operatively when trying to play tennis.
STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics - involves lots of different skills:
We have been talking about and attempting to use these skills all week. We began the week with a Mother Nature workshop which taught us all about adaptation in the environment.
We then had a STEAM activity on Wednesday which linked beautifully to our topic about Light - we learned what refraction is and did an experiment!
The Irish Chaplaincy paid a visit to our school to talk about the great work they do within the community. They taught us some Irish words - much to the delight of Miss Hughes and Miss Feehan - and sang us a beautiful hymn!
We began our day with a trek to the park - a long way to go for our hunter gatherers! We collected materials to use in our crafting later on - just like in Stone Age times.
We polished the day off by making some round houses - made from clay!
We celebrated our love of reading through lots of activities - drama, song, dance and even a fashion parade! Well done to all the children for participating so well and for wearing those amazing costumes!
We've been so lucky to have Kite Studios come in and work with us. We're developing our art skills each week!
