Research each of these very special days we celebrate during Holy Week.
For each day:
1). Describe what happened
2). Explain ways in which how we remember it today.
3). Draw your own image to represent each day of Holy Week.
English - DIRECT SPEECH
Attached you will find a document to remind you of how you use and punctuate direct speech.
After you go through this, you must complete the direct speech activity based on Goodnight Mister Tom.
I have done an example for you to follow. Also, take a look at the attached word mat to give you helpful ideas for your vocabulary
You DO NOT have to find exactly what was said in the book.
You can make up what they say and use it to write a descriptive passage about the part of the story the image represents.
For the final two, you can pick your own parts of the story to draw and write about.
Your writing should include:
- Direct Speech
- Words to replace 'said'
- Adjectives to describe the setting
- Adverbs to describe how actions are happening (hurriedly, anxiously, suspiciously, etc,)
- Vary your sentence openers
- Make sure it makes sense
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT INVERTED COMMAS ARE NEVER USED IN SPEECH BUBBLES.
Maths - Reading Timetables

Please read each timetable carefully.
