St John XXIII Catholic Primary School Inspiring Faith in our Future

Mental Health and Well-being

Here at St John XXIII Catholic Primary School, we value the Emotional Well-being and Mental Health (EWMH) of all our children and staff. We want our school to be a place where children and adults feel safe and comfortable talking about their feelings and concerns.

Below you will find some information regarding EWMH at St John XXIII and what you can do if you are experiencing poor mental health.

Hammersmith & Fulham Mental Health Support Team

Hello, my name is Liliya and I’m an Education Mental Health Practitioner. I am based in St John XXIII Catholic School every Thursday and work closely with the school link -Mrs Mary Gilmartin.

My role is to help children understand their feelings and emotions through workshops and groups. I also work parents/carers through workshops, coffee mornings and 1:1 interventions (see poster for more information). Currently our interventions are delivered remotely-  over the telephone or via secure video platform.

We also offer a telephone drop-in service for parents to discuss any concerns you might have about your child’s wellbeing. This can include talking about challenging behaviour or any unpleasant thoughts or feelings your child is experiencing. In these drop-in calls, we can support you to find the help that you need – this might involve a 1:1 intervention with us, or useful signposts to other services or resources.

If you would like to book a 20-minute drop-in session, please follow the steps below:

  1. Email

  2. In the subject write “St John XXIII Catholic drop-in service expression of interest”

  3. Include your name and phone number

  4. Select your preferred time on Thursday – 2pm, 2:20pm, 2:40pm or 3pm.
