MONDAY 20TH APRIL 2020

MATHS- Complete the maths task in your homework book.

COMPUTING- Log into Purple Mash. Look at the paintings on the attached word document. Look at your 2do's in alerts. Select 2 paint a picture and choose impressionism. Recreate your own version of one of the paintings.

TUESDAY 21ST APRIL 2020

ENGLISH- The Tale of Peter Rabbit. READING: The Tale Of Peter Rabbit What mischief has Peter Rabbit been getting up to today? Have a read of the book attached. Then try your best to answer the questions.

MATHS- Complete the worksheet in your homework books.

RE- Eastertide- Read through the Bible story and talk about the Big Question. Write your ideas in your homework books.

WEDNESDAY 22ND APRIL 2020

ENGLISH: Warning Poster. Remind yourself of the story you read yesterday 'The Tale of Peter Rabbit'. I have a challenge for you! I need you to help Mr McGregor create a warning poster to keep animals away form his farm. Open up the instructions attached to help you. It also has an example poster on it to give you ideas and a word bank. Think carefully about the sentences that you must include. Yes, your poster must include full sentences! They must persuade or warn other animals to stay away. Good luck!

THURSDAY 23RD APRIL 2020

ENGLISH: PHONICS: Soft c sound Today you will be exploring the soft c sound which sounds very similar to the sound /s/. It is found in lots of words such as ice, dance, city and more. Have a look at the YouTube clip to spot any more words with the soft c sound. Try to complete the sheet attached.

ENGLISH: SPAG MAT 1 Let's end the week with a recap of some grammar and Spelling. Try to complete your first SPAG mat.

MATHS- Log into Mathletics and complete the task:  How many faces?

GEOGRAPHY: Your new Geography topic this term is all about Northern Europe. We always start a new topic by reading through our knowledge organiser. You can find that attached and read through the new key words. We also have a big question which we think about during every lesson in this topic. Our big question for this topic is: What makes a good explorer? Have a look through the google slides to find out more and complete some activities.

MONDAY 27TH APRIL 2020

ENGLISH-Using apostrophes for contractions can sound very tricky, but don't worry! A contraction means when two words have been squashed together to make one word. When this happens, we sometimes take away a letter or two. We use the apostrophe to show where the letters have been removed. For example: I am ------> I'm When these two words were squashed together, the letter a was taken away and an apostrophe was put in instead. Have a read through the powerpoint attached to learn a little bit more. Then have a go at the activity sheet attached. I wonder how many contractions you can spot in your reading book?

MATHS- Order Objects and numbers. Complete the sheet either in your homework books or on the sheet. Remember to count in tens and ones.

COMPUTING-Today you are going to log into purple mash and use the Pointillist option in 2 Paint a picture to recreate pointillist art. Look at the work of pointillist artists such as Seurat

TUESDAY 28TH APRIL 2020

ENGLISH- Have a read through this Greek-style Salad recipe. Do you recognise the ingredients? Is it clear enough for you to follow and create the salad? See if you can answer the questions attached.

RE- Re-read the story you read last week. Talk about the questions and then draw a picture of the story of when Mary Magdala went to the tomb. Write about who was there, who she told and what happened next do it in your homework books and upload a photo if you can.

WEDNESDAY 29TH APRIL 2020

ENGLISH-Have a read through yesterdays Greek-Style Salad recipe again. What is your favourite meal? We would love you to share them with us by writing up a recipe for your FAVOURITE meal. Maybe you could send in some pictures too. :) There is a recipe template attached to help you organise your work

ART-We are going to learning about Roy Lichtenstein who created Pop art. Read through your knowledge organiser and look at the powerpoint. Can you create your own piece of Pop Art. Draw and colour your picture and upload a photo if you can.

THURSDAY 30TH APRIL 2020

ENGLISH-Soft g. Last week you looked at the soft c sound, where the letter c makes a /s/ sound. Today we are going to look at the soft g sound. Sometimes words use the letter g to make a /j/ sound, such as 'magic', 'giant' and 'large'. Watch the YouTube clip to learn about other words that use the soft g sound. Then try to complete the activity attached.

MATHS- Maths map 1

GEOGRAPHY-Today we are going to be studying the human and physical features of Scandinavia. We did a lot of work on the terms human and physical features in our previous topic about the British Isles, so hopefully you can remember what they are. If not, don't worry! Have a read through the lesson slides to find out more. :)

FRIDAY 1ST MAY 2020

ENGLISH-You did so well this week! Time to end the week with your second SPAG Activity Mat. :)

MATHS- Log into Mathletics and complete the test on addition and subtraction.

SCIENCE- PLANTS. We are starting a new topic all about plants. As usual, read through your new knowledge organiser to familiarise yourself with the new vocabulary you will be hearing. Also try to write some initial ideas for this topic's big question 'How does my garden grow?' We do NOT expect every activity attached to be completed! Due to the possibility of some of you being unable to go and observe plants outdoors we have uploaded some activities that can be done inside as well as out. Chose the activity best suited for you!

MONDAY 4TH MAY 2020

ENGLISH-Last week we looked at contractions, this week we are going to be learning how to show possession. This basically means when something belongs to someone. Have a look at the poster for how to use an apostrophe in this way and try to complete the activity attached.

MATHS- Checking calculations.Complete the task either in your homework books or on the sheet and upload a photo. You are all doing so well. Keep it up!

COMPUTING-Look at the Powerpoint about Piet Mondrian. Log into Purple Mash and use 2 Paint a Picture 'Lines' to recreate your own painting.

TUESDAY 5TH MAY 2020

ENGLISH-Have a look at this short read about a missing unicorn! See if you can answer some of the questions

MATHS- Recall number bonds to 100. Can you recall your number bonds to 10? How many number bonds can you make for 10? How many for 20? Complete the sheet for number bonds to 100. Watch the video clip about number bonds before you start.

RE- Eastertide lesson3

WEDNESDAY 6TH MAY 2020

ENGLISH-Do you remember what you read yesterday? Today it is your turn to create a missing poster of your own. Choose a toy you own and create your own missing poster for it.

MATHS- MATHLETICS. 

Log into Mathletics and complete the task assigned 10 more, 10 less. I have a assigned a few other tasks if you would like to do more.

ART- Superheroes

Go to the Tate kids website and explore it. Click on the link below and complete the quiz Which superhero are you. 

THURSDAY 7TH MAY 2020

ENGLISH-Normally we see the sound ou in words like 'cloud'. However in some words it makes a different sound like in 'double' and 'trouble'. In these words it changes to an /u/ sound. Have a go at the activity sheet attached to find other words like this

MATHS- Adding a 2 digit and a 1 digit number crossing 10. Complete in your homework books.

COMPUTING-Read through the powerpoint about William Morris. Log into Purple Mash and go to 2Paint a Picture. Click on new and select the Patterns template to create your own William Morris design.

WEDNESDAY 13TH MAY 2020
MATHS- Log into Mathletics and complete the assigned tasks. Add 2 digit numbers and Problems: Add and Subtract.

ART-Look at Lichtenstein's Girl With Hair Ribbon with your child. Using markers (washable markers work well for younger artists), add color to the art. Think about solid areas of color vs. areas with dot patterns. You can follow Lichtenstein's style if you wish, or get creative and use different colors, switch up the dot vs. solid areas, and let your imagination go wild. You can draw your own!
